Turkey Bookings Help Thomas Cook

Thomas Cook, Europe’s second-largest travel operator announced that holidaymakers buying package breaks and trips to Turkey have helped them to a resilient performance despite the economic gloom.
The company said that while bookings remained well down on a cumulative basis, there had been resurgence in the past four weeks, boosted by British demand for holidays in non-euro destinations, such as Turkey.
Thomas Cook said cumulative bookings across its markets were down 16% on last year for this summer, after it reduced its capacity by 11%.
